Our pupils like so much doing special activities like this. In this case, I have chosen a James Blunt´s song because I think it is easy to understand and different from other typical songs.
Level: 6th Primary
JAMES BLUNT: "Stay the night"
It’s _____ degrees, zero chance of rain
It’s been a perfect ________
We’re all spinning on our heels, so far away from real
In _________________
We watched the sunset from our ________, we all took it in
And by the time that it was ___________, you and me had something, yeah!
And if this is what we’ve got, then what we’ve got is gold
We’re shining bright and I want you, I want you to know
The ____________’s on it’s way, our friends all say ______________
There’s nowhere else to go, I hope that you’ll stay the ____________
We’ve been singing Billie Jean
Mixin’ vodka with caffeine
We’ve got strangers stopping by
And though you’re out of tune
______ you blow my mind, you do
And I’ll say I don’t wanna say good night
There’s no quiet __________ to get to know each other
And there’s no hurry I’m a patient man
Is your _______________
Cause if this is what we’ve got, then what we’ve got is gold
We’re shining bright and I want you, I want you to know
The____________ ’s on it’s way, our friends all say ______________
There’s nowhere else to go, I hope that you’ll stay the _____________
Just like the song on our __________ set
We’ll share the shelter of my single bed
But it’s a ____________ tune that’s stuck in my head
And it goes…
If this is what we’ve got, then what we’ve got is gold
We’re shining bright and I want you, I want you to know
The ___________’s on it’s way, our friends all say ________________

Hi Silvia!
ResponderEliminarI am one of your mates from this subject and my name is Miriam Moscatel.
I would like to comment that I do not know if it is my problem or not, but I cannot click on the link to listen the song. I mean that it is not activated and I have to copy and paste the address.
A part from that, the song is very nice but I guess that you will give some kind of orientation to students in order to prepare them for critical vocabulary in advance as it is very quick, right?
How nice is when you can understand and sing it!! This song gives very positive sensations!
Best regards
Miriam
Hi Silvia!
ResponderEliminarMy name is Ana.
It is true that you can not click on link to open the song directly, but doing a copy and paste in the search itself opens.
Regarding the song, it seems very appropriate for the sixth grade level. I agree with Miriam that is a song whose lyrics and rhythm conveys a good feeling, is very happy ... And I think the students could create a dance while singing. Do not you think?

Ana
Hello!
ResponderEliminarI´m sorry, I have just modified it. I hope you can open the link perfectly.
About the activity Miriam, all the missing words are known by the pupils, but it´s true that before starting the activity, for example, We can read the song and think what words fit well.
Apart from that, I like your idea Ana, about dancing and creating a dance.
Thank you for your comments about the song.
Kind Regards,
SILVIA :))
Hi Silvia.
ResponderEliminarNice song!! I like it, but I feel it would be a bit hard for 6th grade students to understand and recognize the vocabulary of this song. It's just my point of view.
I had no problem listening to the song, so the link really works.
This exercise remembers me phonetics class from last year :)
You can take a look at my blog. I hope you enjoy it :)

Hello Silvia....
ResponderEliminarI like your song that you have share.
With this song, you could record a lip dub.
Lip dub is an activity made by a group of people who they synchornize their lips, gestures and movements.
If you write in youtube "Lip dub in schools", you´ll see these videoclips...
I think It could be a idea to work with your students because they will have fun and improve their pronunciation...
Bye bye...
Hi Silvia, congratulations for your blog.
ResponderEliminarThe song is nice and good for practice my horrible english ; )

Hello Silvia!
ResponderEliminarI really like the design of your blog, very original!
This activity is one of the top activities in English, using English songs to learn the truth that is a way to work on listening and vocabulary in a fun and dynamic.
You chose a good song for the activity, a happy song in which you can work on vocabulary, verb forms ...
Before joining the song should see the vocabulary not known, post-activity could also make groups and students perform in class minikaraoke this and other songs.
King regards

Hello !
ResponderEliminarI like your blog, besides of the song, I think that the game “Who´s who”is ideal for 4th, 5th and 6th levels of Primary. It´s a very motivating game because children love the dynamic activities in which they have to think and act all the time. It´very useful for any time even when children are in the playground because they don´t need materials.
Hello everybody!
ResponderEliminarI like this kind of activity very much, but I really think that this is quite a difficult song for primary level...
But, we can take the idea for our lessons. Pupils like to work through music, they feel motivated and they change from other kind of activities.
I think we can use this song for secondary level and it will be great!
Regards,
María
